About Us

Built from Defining Moments

In 2014, just two years after launching Intentional, life became very real.

My brother was diagnosed with cancer.

There are moments that divide your life into before and after. That was one of them.

Two years later, I was the passenger in a car accident I should not have walked away from. When time slows down and you realize how fragile everything is, your priorities recalibrate quickly.

Then Hudson was born.

Our son became only the 46th documented case in the world with his rare genetic syndrome. We stepped into a future filled with uncertainty, medical conversations, and decisions no parent ever expects to face.

Those years changed me.

Up until then, I had built my career around helping people accumulate wealth. But those experiences forced a harder question.

What is wealth actually for?

I realized that accumulation without alignment is empty. Capital without clarity drifts. Success without purpose feels incomplete.

I had to redesign my own life before I could credibly guide anyone else through theirs.

Intentional was refined in that season. Not as a marketing concept, but as a conviction.

You get one life.

You can allow it to unfold by circumstance.

OR YOU CAN CHOOSE IT.

The Shift

Impact became my metric. I realized that if wealth was going to mean anything, it had to extend beyond balance sheets. It had to influence lives. Families. Advisors. Communities. At some point, I stopped thinking like a financial planner and started thinking like an owner. An architect. A builder of something that could outlast me.

That shift did not happen overnight. It came through leadership coaching. Through mistakes I had to own. Through instincts I had ignored for too long. And through a growing conviction that living your purpose requires courage, not comfort. Intentional evolved because I did.

In 2022, I made the decision to transition from the broker dealer model to an independent Registered Investment Advisory structure. Independence was not about control. It was about alignment. About removing constraints so we could serve families the right way. We partnered with a custodian whose values mirrored our own. Family. Loyalty. Stewardship. Quiet integrity. Today, our clients are surrounded by specialists who bring deep technical expertise without ego. Advisors who are sharp, but humble. Capable, but grounded. Because excellence without character is incomplete. And wealth without alignment is unfinished.

The Result

You get one life. Our role is not to dictate how it should be lived. It is to help you see clearly, decide confidently, and structure your wealth in a way that reflects who you are and what you stand for. Default goals and inherited assumptions quietly produce a life driven by momentum instead of meaning.

For years, I believed something was missing from traditional financial planning. We have become sophisticated at managing money. Diversification, risk, asset allocation. Those are well understood. But we still assume people know what they want from their wealth. Most don’t.

Between 2014 and 2017, I slowed down long enough to examine my own life. What I discovered was more valuable than any credential. I gained clarity around how I am wired. What drives me. What I fear. The patterns I repeat. Why certain things matter deeply to me and others do not. Once that became clear, my goals changed. And when my goals changed, my financial plan became simple.

That clarity is what we help you build. Not just a portfolio. A life aligned. With wealth structured to support it.
